The ED5INTERNATIONAL Certificate IV in Performing Arts [Vocal or Dance Major] is a one year intensive program and boasts many of Sydney’s most respected teachers, dancers, vocalists, directors and choreographers covering all aspects of the Performing Arts, which will guide you into a successful career and provide you with a formal, recognized qualification.

The ED5 Performing Arts Centre also offers 1 yearly scholarship, based on the student audition. This will be offered after the student accepts his/her position and announced at the commencement of the course. [Deposit, accommodation and ancillary costs are not included]. Students are to submit an essay with the audition application.

Cert IV Vocal Major

ED5International is offering an exciting new course in 2008 designed specifically for ‘Singers’ and ‘Singers who Dance’ who wish to make a career for themselves in the Entertainment Industry. The Certificate IV in Performing Arts (Vocal Major) will cater to individuals who have natural vocal talent as well as those who have prior training in singing and/or drama. An understanding of, or previous training in dance would also be beneficial but is not essential.

The course will cover all aspects required to potentially work as a lead vocalist in any field of the entertainment industry but particularly geared towards roles in musical theatre. Course work includes: Private Singing, Solo presentations, Duo’s, Group Harmony Work, Music Theory, Drama Technique for Stage, Film & Television, Improvisation Skills and Audition Technique as well as giving a good strong base in dance which is expected of  singers in most vocal fields. The course is a one year intensive on a full time basis.

  • Natural Vocal Talent
  • Some prior training in either singing, drama or both.
  • A basic understanding of dance with some training an advantage
  • Enthusiasm, Passion, Potential and Desire

  • Primarily Singing including: Private Tuition; Solo Presentations; Duo’s; Group Harmony Work; Song Selection; Audition and Performance Technique; Music Theory & Sight Reading
  • Additional Primary Focus on Drama including: Techniques for Stage, Film & Television; Improvisation & Theatre Sports; Monologue/Scene Selection as well as  Audition and Performance Technique
  • Secondary focus on Dance including: Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre.
  • Additional Elements: Repertoire Class; History of Musical Theatre; Nutrition & Exercise; Image Management; Money Management & Taxation; Safe Dance & Industry Week including CV Prep, Industry Legalities & Agency Lecture.

Cert IV Dance Major

ED5International’s Certificate IV in Performing Arts (Dance Major) is a well established and highly regarded course within the Entertainment Industry with a phenomenal amount of graduates placing with agents after graduation and having highly acclaimed careers in every field of the Entertainment Industry.

The course has a major focus on every style of dance including Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Pas De Deux, Repertoire and Acrobatics and will appeal to students who have a strong base in at least two of these disciplines. A strong emphasis is also placed on Singing and Drama as well as a number of ancillary subjects and topics and students will graduate with a strong base in all aspects of performing arts. The course is a one year intensive on a full time basis.
