full 2 year Diploma in Performing Arts for 2012


WHY CHOOSE A DIPLOMA COURSE?

2012 will see us offer for the first time the full 2 year Diploma in Performing Arts.
This new course which began in 2011 as a 2nd year entry course will replace our Certificate IV which we have offered for the past 11 years.
This is a very exciting time for us as making this shift allows us to improve and expand on the great work we were already achieving.

So what has changed?

  • A Diploma is a higher academic level than a Certificate IV course.
    Graduates will leave with a higher recognition credential allowing an easier
    transition to university should they wish to take this path.

  • A Diploma will allow us to expand and add additional course material we have so badly wanted to include in greater detail but which time did not permit.
    This means it will give students an even better grounding in preparation for life (and a long career) as a performer in the Entertainment Industry.

  • The additional time frame of the course will also allow us to hone the skills of our students in much greater detail over two years. Many of our previous graduates have asked for a 2 year course and a few who have done the Certificate IV course for two years for various reasons say they learnt so much more during the second year of study. A lot of this has to do with building maturity as a performer.

  • The Government and VETAB are standardizing all Certificate IV courses over the next 12-24 months to make them all the same in regards to content.
    This means there will be no real distinction between the many Certificate IV courses out there. We wanted to still be able to offer our own unique course at the top level the Entertainment Industry has come to expect from us.

  • As the only college granted permission to offer a Diploma in Performing Arts in NSW you can guarantee that the government saw ED5INTERNATIONAL fit to provide the best possible education you could possibly hope for as a performer in the Arts.

  • Many agents and industry professionals have spoken with us and told us they feel that there is a need within the industry for performers to pursue a second year of study. They have also said that they would be far more interested in representing or employing someone who has dedicated 2 years to studying Performing Arts as this commitment to a second year would set them apart from the majority of performers who only undertake 1 year of study.
